Road Rage Returns

I have tried, somewhat successfully, to be a patient, mature driver. For months, I have not allowed the stupid drivers of the world to get under my skin. I have patiently allowed rude people to go ahead of me, whether they deserved to or not. I have watched hundreds of cars run red lights and stop signs. I have been nearly run over and run off the road more times than I like to remember.

But today I thought seriously about tossing all these past months aside, stepping out of my *happy place*--In other words, I wanted to stick my head out of the window and yell to the oncoming driver coming straight at me in the center of the street, when I had nowhere to go,

GET * OFF * THE * PHONE !

If I could have gotten their attention, I would have explained to them that they did not have enough spare brain power to *multi-task* and, therefore, should not try to DRIVE AND TALK ON THE CELL PHONE at the same time. I know that some of us have the ability to multi-task. I understand that it is possible to do so and be safe. You (we) are in the minority.

There has been so much media coverage lately of the consequences of using a cell phone (specifically, text messaging) while driving that it has been on my mind. I just wish it was on everyone's mind.
